Schatz 1881 is the great classic name in ship's clocks: German nautical clockmaking since 1881, today produced under the Danish house Delite, with original movements and spare parts.

MoreFew brands are as bound to the ship's clock as Schatz. August Schatz founded his clockworks in 1881 in Triberg, in Germany's Black Forest, the European cradle of mechanical clockmaking, and the house became famous for its robust 8-day movements and its ship's bell strike: the sound code of the watches on board.
The brand's history traces twentieth-century European clockmaking: after the Staiger era — a pioneer of the quartz movement — and a period of production in La Chaux-de-Fonds and Morteau under Altitude, the Danish house Delite took over production in 2012. It continues today in Måløv, near Copenhagen, along with the supply of original movements and spare parts. That is why a Schatz never retires: it gets inherited.
The current ranges — Royal ø180 mm, Midi ø155 mm and the compact Fyrkat ø140 mm — combine ship's bell clocks, high-sensitivity Hi-Sensitiv barometers and matching hygro-thermometers, in solid polished or chrome-plated brass. Read our full Schatz 1881 story.
