List of products by brand VION

VION Paris stands for marine instruments with modern lines: mirror-polished stainless steel, crisp dials and the renowned Axium bearing compasses.

If Schatz represents classic brass tradition, VION Paris is its contemporary counterpoint: the French marine instrument house with clean lines, whose production today continues in the hands of the Danish house Delite in Måløv, near Copenhagen.

VION's hallmark is mirror-polished stainless steel: barometers, thermometers and hygrometers of the A80 to A130 series that shrug off the marine environment. Many dials also come in brass or in black with a titanium look. The catalogue is completed by electronic barographs, tide indicators and the Axium bearing compasses — the very first products Delite put into production after taking over the brand — valued by racers and professionals alike.

How to choose among the VION range

In ship's clocks the decision is the diameter — ø127 mm for cabins and small spaces, ø150 mm for the saloon or living room — and the dial: classic or with the radio-silence sectors (minutes 15-18 and 45-48), the chart-room detail that sets VION apart. In barometers choose between the closed dial and the open dial that shows the capsules, with a Hi-Sensitiv mechanism in ø150 mm; tide clocks complete the trio in steel. For navigation, the AXIUM hand-bearing compass. Always combine pieces of the same diameter and finish.

Caring for stainless steel

It needs neither lacquer nor polish: a damp cloth and dry. On board, rinse with fresh water now and then to avoid superficial salt spots. More in our VION guide, in how to choose a ship's clock and in which finish to choose.
