Altitude was born as a French precision instrument maker in Morteau, in the clockmaking heart of the French Jura — the house that for years also produced the Schatz instruments. Since 2013 production continues in the hands of the Danish house Delite in Måløv, near Copenhagen.

The collection focuses on what a sailor checks daily: pressure, temperature and humidity. Aneroid barometers — including the spectacular open-dial models that leave the mechanism in view — alongside thermometers, hygrometers and baro-thermo-hygro combinations in polished brass or stainless steel, in the standard 127 and 150 mm diameters that make a perfectly aligned instrument panel easy to compose. Ranges such as Cardinals add compass roses and nautical flags to the dial.

How to choose among the Altitude range

The range is ordered by diameter: ø71 mm and 97 mm for cabins and narrow bulkheads, 127 mm as the saloon and living-room size, 150 mm and ø224 mm for large spaces. Within each size you will find the clock, the barometer (many Hi-Sensitiv and several open-dial), the hygro-thermometer and the baro-thermo-hygrometer combinations. Look at the details on the product page: English or French dial, front access (adjusted from the front, without dismounting) and dials decorated with navigation lights, signal flags or the cardinal points. The solid brass comes polished or chrome-plated: choose the same finish for the whole set.
